Online Design Stuff

Believe it or not but MFI have some great free online design tools that allow bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens to be designed.

Set out the room how you want, choose from a range of items then simply drag and drop into place, in 2D. Remarkably it also shows the designs in 3D.

Great stuff.

Timeline Stuff

games.jpg

If you’re having trouble with introducing the concept of timelines to pupils then take a look at this one from Time Magazine.

It’s a timeline of Games Consoles! (up to 2006)

Click on the next console button on each page to move to the next from that year or the next on the timeline (oh and don’t get caught out with clicking on Press Start to Begin - it’s a reference to all those games that had the phrase on the opening screen!)

There’s some advertising so just scroll the window down to hide it.

Screen Online Education Stuff

screenonline.jpg

There’s a new Screenonline education zone, which is a free resource to help all subject teachers get the most out of moving image in the classroom.

There, you’ll find subject-specific, curriculum-relevant resources, including starters, plenaries, detailed lesson suggestions and worksheets, linked to films, TV programmes and extracts featured on Screenonline.

The zone will be rapidly expanding over the months ahead, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for please go back to visit or, better yet, get in touch with your ideas!

Stanley Music Stuff

Apparently the pupils at Foundation Stage know who Stanley is (he’s on the Disney Channel).

Here’s a great, simple music game from Stanley called Rock n Roar.

Simply click on each of the things in the Rock n Roar window to get them to play. Make music with different sounds. Add them all or just a few to change how the music sounds.

You may need to install a newer version of Flash.
