The BBC has just launched EcoBeebies .
EcoBeebies is about learning how to take care of our environment. In other words, it’s about the little things that the little ones can do!
On the EcoBeebies website there’s a sticker chart for children to print off with ideas of things that they can do to help the environment. It could be turning off a light when they leave the room or it could be turning off the tap while brushing their teeth. Cut out, colour in and stick on a picture of what’s been achieved today.
Give the web address to parents of your Reception children and encourage them to get involved.
SustainNK is here to help North Kesteven residents, businesses, schools and communities to reduce their carbon emissions and limit their impact on the environment.
There’s a carbon footprint calculator, a way to calculate energy use and information about locavores. (Locavore n. A person who sources food grown or produced locally, typically within a 100-mile radius of their home.)
Contact David Webb at NK (01529) 414155 (if you’re in the local area, for support and particularly if you’re part of the Eco Schools Program.)
